The world was claimed by the [[Emperor of Mankind]] during the [[Great Crusade]] in 970.[[M30]]. A memorial with a large statue of the Emperor was erected on the place where He had once stood surveying the land. Eventually, thousands of years later, the world was pacified by the Tau Empire under the command of [[Tau Commander]] [[Shadowsun]].{{Fn|1}}

While not classified as a [[Death World]], Il'Wolaho possesses many dangers, such as the carnivorous [[Ursaloth]]s and [[Fen skulk]]s native to its forests and swamps.{{Fn|1}}
