Artillery experts, they are trained and equipped with [[auspex]] identity-arrays, range-finding [[Imperial bionics|bionics]], modified rangefinder [[servo-skull]]s,{{Fn|1}} a powerful [[Vox|vox system]] and a wrist-mounted [[cogitator]]{{Fn|2}} in order to more accurately direct artillery fire during combat. The Master of Ordnance communicates directly with his counterparts in artillery companies, relaying the location of enemy forces and calling down a deadly bombardment with an accuracy not otherwise possible.{{Fn|1}}
