The Headhunters have a fearsome reputation, in part because [[Colonel]] [[Radge]] encouraged the regiment's Guardsmen to continue the [[Mortant]] tradition of taking enemy body parts as trophies.{{Fn|2}}

**At one point in the campaign, the Mortant 7th was nearly annihilated in a surprise ambush by an [[Eldar]] warhost of [[Craftworld]] [[Saim-Hann]]. The regiment was saved by the intervention of [[Gunnery Sergeant]] [[Harker]] of the [[Catachan Jungle Fighters]], who sprang a counter-ambush. Harker and a single [[Catachan Devil Squadron]] killed the warhost's [[Autarch]] and drove the eldar off.{{Fn|3}}
