The Volcano Cannon is the most powerful laser cannon used on the ground. Only extremely large machines, namely Imperial Titans and the Shadowsword super-heavy tank, can wield it in battle. It is primarily meant to target huge objects and obliterate them with a single shot. Such targets usually include other Titan-sized opponents and minor hive cities. Its slow rate of fire means that when mounted on the Shadowsword super-heavy, it is used for dealing killing blows to Titans, Gargantuan Creatures and other such monstrous engines of war only after their void shields have been deactivated by smaller vehicles or weapons teams. This prevents such vehicles from exacting their wrath upon the Shadowsword before it can fire again. On Titans, the Volcano Cannon is similarly used to deal death blows, but normally after the Titan itself has weakened the target with its other weapons systems.
