Overview
The Deathstrike Missile Launcher is a tracked Chimera variant used uncommonly by the Imperial Guard throughout the Imperium. Deathstrike represents the largest threat offered by any mobile Imperial Guard missile system. This inter-continental solid fuel rocket offers the largest payload possible with unmatched effective range. Only ever seeing deployment during the most veracious battles the Death Strike is a force multiplier that's payload causes fear in even the most experienced enemies of the Imperium1
Armament and Upgrades
The Death Strike Missile Launcher is armed with a hull mounted weapon - either a Heavy Bolter or Heavy Flamer - and may also use several special improvements like other imperial tanks. Various Death Strike warheads exist in the form of High Explosive, Plasma, Biological, Incendiary, and the most rare and dangerous the Vortex variant. The most common warhead used is the Plasma variant making it almost standard armament within the Imperial Guard. 1

In the 41st Millennium:
The Deathstrike missile launcher finds itself a uncommon sight on today's Imperial battle fields. None the less it's combat effectiveness as a long range inter-continental missile is still largely unmatched and when equipped with vortex missiles has the capability of tearing boundaries between dimensions and creating great voids of destruction. The vortex warhead designed during the Dark Age of Technology remains to this day one of the most dreaded weapons of the Imperium and is easily capable of hunting full class Titans and Bio-Titans.
Over the years the Imperium has slowly moved on to more mobile forms of artillery that required less logistical support and have much less complex firing systems. As a result, today's Deathstrikers are mostly involved in the most dire and apocalyptic of battles but can also sometimes be found in smaller formations in need of destruction on a grand scale.1:
Notable Moments In Time:
During the Ork raid on Baric Six in 994.M40 Lootas managed to infiltrate and and steal one of three Deathstrike missile launchers from the Imperial 52 artillery battery. This would later prove to be a fatal mistake resulting in the loss of two entire armoured companies of the Mordian 278th and the Baneblade "Steel Might" not to mention over a hundred Orks. Later after two years of investigations a dozen Imperial Generals would be put to death for direliction of duty.1:
