A Gladius is a short sword used mainly by any Space Marines as a close combat weapon to slash their enemy instead of hitting them with their Bolter, which is quiet effective as well. In Dawn of War, the Space Marines always use their Gladius when they are fighting an enemy in close combat or are attacking a building and vehicle.
