Infra-Red Sight/Goggles

Infra-Red Sights and Goggles cover a wide range of devices used to give the operator an enhanced view of the battlefield by detecting and displaying sources of heat.^1a1b

Sights

Mounted onto the top of a weapon, the sight allows a shooter to not only locate targets by their body-heat, but also to fire in decreased visibility or even complete darkness. The individual must remain still however, as any movement on their part will distort the image.^1a

Goggles

Often in the form of a visor, they operate in the same way as the Infra-Red Sight, but allow the wearer more autonomy, allowing him to survey more of the battlefield, but offering almost no improvement to their ability to fire on the revealed enemies.^1b
