The Plasma Pistol is a smaller version of the Plasma Gun and is just as dangerous as other Imperial Plasma Weapons. They are favoured by officers due to their rarity and also due to the power afforded by them. It offers a penetrating capacity unique among broadly distributed pistol-sized weapons, and can easily take out heavily armoured enemies. Only the highest officers have access to them, the exception being two members of a Space Marine Assault Squad. They may take them so as to become more effective as tank hunters.
The current design in use is the MK III 'Sunfury'.
