History
In 931.M41, the Tau, who had established a trading mission on the planet, were making overtures to the Governor, and had become highly popular among the planet's citizenry. This led to what became known as the Gravalax Incident.[1]
Although Gravalax itself was of no strategic value, the Imperium refused to allow the Tau to make any further inroads into Imperial territory. On the other hand, the Imperium was painfully aware that provoking open war with the Tau would waste military resources that were desperately needed in other theatres.[1]
The planet is also noteworthy for being the place where Commissar Ciaphas Cain and Inquisitor Amberley Vail of the Ordo Xenos first met and began their long association.[1]
