An Assassin is a contract-killer, someone who specialises in killing a person, or several persons, in a covert way. They may be sent undercover to infiltrate an enemy command centre and kill an officer, destroy a special objective, or perform some other similar task that a conventional army would have to suffer many losses to achieve. The High Lords of Terra, rulers and administrators of the Imperium, have a special division the Officio Assassinorum, aka Office of Assassins, to deal with such matters. The Dark Eldar have the Mandrakes.
