The magazine Inferno! was started in 1997 by Black Library and was published in two monthly intervals.

Within it were stories from both the Warhammer world and Warhammer 40,000 World, including Necromunda and later other game systems such as Gorkamorka and Mordheim. Many of these short stories were published as part of Anthologies at a later date in a number of Black Library novels. Inferno! also included comics such as Tales from the Ten Tailed Cat. It also included maps and images including Pyramids of Khemri, Ork Forts and the interior of a Chimera.

Inferno! appeared exclusively in English and was cancelled in 2005 after 47 articles due to the restructuring of the publishing program of Black Library.

In 2018, it was announced that Inferno would be returning.[2]
