A pauldron is part of the Power Armour worn by the Adeptus Astartes which cover the shoulder area and armpit, and sometimes parts of the back and chest.[1]
Pauldrons are typically adorned with Chapter insignias, badges, Purity Seals, emblems and various other individual markings. Although not typically augmented in any way, some master crafted pauldrons may include enhancements such as a Refractor Field. For instance, heroes of the Blood Raven Chapter wear golden pauldrons crafted by the master-artificers aboard the Omnis Arcanum.[1]
