Awakenings is a novel by George Mann. It was published by Black Library in September 2022.[4] It is the first full length novel to feature the Inquisitor Astor Sabbathiel, and takes place between her first appearance in the Warhammer 40,000 comic series and "The Karsharat Abomination".[1]
Cover description
100 years after the Grey Knights struck her down and left her for dead within a Warp Storm, after she uncovered one of the Imperium's greatest treacheries, Inquisitor Astor Sabbathiel has returned. She has been nursed back to health by the mysterious Tech-Priest Metik, but Sabbathiel must now deal with suspicions from her fellow Inquisitors of the Ordo Hereticus. They take a dim view of anyone who comes into contact with the Warp and Sabbathiel will have to undergo a dangerous mission to prove her faith and regain the trust of her Ordo.[1]
Limited ddition
A limited edition of Awakenings was released in September 2022 with a leather-effect cover with gold foil inlay, gilt page edges, and a red ribbon page marker. The printing run was limited to only 1,250 copies, and also include an additional exclusive short story starring the Inquisitor:[1][4] "If You Want a Job Doing...".
