Drumon was a Techmarine of the Reclaimers Space Marine Chapter in late M41.[3a]
History
Drumon served aboard the Strike Cruiser Revenant in the 930's.M41, when Imperial Guard Commissar Ciaphas Cain was assigned as the strike force's liaison, during its mission to Viridia[3a], and its subsequent pursuit of the space hulk Spawn of Damnation.[3] In fact, the Reclaimers first made Cain's acquaintance when he appeared at the other end of a Dolmen Gate, escaping the denizens of a Necron Tomb that the Reclaimers were about to demolish.[2] Cain had lost two fingers to a glancing hit from a Necron Gauss weapon, and Drumon collaborated with Apothecary Sholer to create an augmetic replacement for the fingers.[3a] This replacement served Cain faithfully for the rest of his life.[3a][Needs Citation]
Cain found Space Marines hard to read, but Drumon seemed to take a liking to him during Cain's time with the Reclaimers. Amberley Vail, Cain's unofficial biographer, echoed this belief, stating that Drumon considered Cain "as close to a friend as possible for anyone outside his Chapter."[1] At times, Drumon would even spar with Cain during his chainsword drills, and, impressively, Cain managed to hold his own, even against an Astartes.[3]
Drumon was among the honour guard that escorted Cain to Serendipita after the conclusion of their mission.[3]
Encountering the Reclaimers again, in the 990's.M41, Cain was saddened to hear that Drumon had been among the detail that re-boarded the Spawn of Damnation, which then disappeared into the warp without warning and had not been seen again since.[4]
