The standard type, firing razor-sharp monomolecular discs capable of slicing through flesh and penetrating a considerable thickness of [[plasteel]] armour. [[Human]]s sometimes refer to these weapons as star slingers or just slingers or sling guns, while its Eldar name is ''tuelean''.{{Fn|2}} The shuriken catapult is the basic weapon of the [[Guardian]]s, the citizen-militia of the [[Craftworld]]s, and is incorporated to certain other systems such as [[Eldar Jetbike]]s.{{Fn|1}}

=={{Endn|Conflicting sources}}==*In the 1987's [[First Edition]] of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader]], a Shuriken Catapult appeared that was different to their modern appearance. It possessed two polar fins (and sometimes additional fins) positioned laterally near its muzzle, which were the source of the magnetic vortex accelerating the discs. The magazine was from a flat and circular magazine extension, (most commonly stationed in horizontal planesituated horizontally, while noted to but sometimes being positioned vertically). While also noted {{Fn|4}} This design was referenced in the 2025 novel ''[[Archmagos (Novel)|Archmagos]]'' as sometimes possessing additional fins, a design dating back to the exact description of them wasn't specified nor illustrated[[War in Heaven (Necron)|War in Heaven]].{{Fn|46}}
