The Battle of Skalathrax was the final action of a unified force of World Eaters Chaos Space Marines. Skalathrax is a Daemon World within the Eye of Terror and was the site of a titanic combat between the World Eaters and the Emperor's Children.
The legion of World Eaters were thrown into a brutal and insane blood-frenzy by their worship of the Blood God Khorne but as the night drew in, man-killing cold arrived and threatened to kill thousands on both sides if the fighting continued. As the armies paused, one World Eater, named Kharn, screamed to the skies, demanding he be allowed to continue the slaughter. He took up a flamer and set on his fellow Khorne Berserkers for stopping the attack while there were enemies to slay. He killed all who who tried to attck him.

From that day onwards, the World Eaters were a broken legion with scattered bands of Berserkers spread throughout the Eye of Terror. Kharn now wanders the Eye of Terror but few will fight beside him, as they are just as likely to be killed by Kharn as they are by the enemy.
