InquisitionPortalAn Interrogator is an Acolyte rank in of the Inquisition, and is usually the final step to becoming a full acting as their Inquisitor's apprentice. As their name suggests, they are often experts at interrogating suspects, although at this stage in their careers they are also expected to develop a wide range of complementary skills.111
At some point, his or her master may recommend to the Ordos of the Inquisition to advance the Acolyte to full Inquisitorial rank. After this, the Interrogator is a full Inquisitor and begins their own agenda and operations. Although the former Interrogator is no longer bound to their old master, the two will have formed a bond and may work together and help one another in the future.1 A former apprentice - now Inquisitor - may seek to reuse or reestablish their former master's resources and networks after their demise, carrying on their work or taking their place in a specific locale of space or Inquisitorial Conclave.13 Similarly, Interrogators who serve under the same Inquisitor will likely have shared the same harsh experiences in training and have come to rely on one another to survive their mentorship. Once graduated to full Inquisitors, they will likely part ways but call upon one another if the need for aid is dire. Inversely, they might become rivals or juxtaposed in ideologies, seeking to undermine each other's work whenever possible.10b Some apprentice Inquisitors start at the rank of Explicator, where they learn how to extract information using torture under the direction of their mentor Inquisitor. Explicators then move up as more experience is gained in the ways of the Inquisition to the rank of Interrogator.2 If an Interrogator's Inquisitor dies, the apprentice can be raised up to the rank of Inquisitor themselves, with the immediate goal of finishing the work of their former master. However, this is considered unconventional by some, and requires a statement and recommendation from another Inquisitor.10a ==Related articlesNotable Interrogators==*Alain Von Baigg*Bledheim7*Iven Rannick12*Jerran Dynaskus9*K'Shuk5*Luce Spinoza4*Rapal Staccata6*Yyrmalla Aleretta*Alasin14 Clear==Images==<gallery mode="packed" heights="200px">Interrogator2023.jpg|Interrogator Miniature8Interrogator.jpg|An Interrogator</gallery> ==Trivia==Trivia===Notes===*Earlier books used the term 'Acolyte' to cover the ranks of 'Explicator', 'Interrogator', and the unexplained 'Notary' only.2 Later books, following from the Dark Heresy RPG, have been clear that Acolytecovers a wide variety of Inquisitorial henchmen, and that apprentice Inquisitors are 'Interrogators'.3 ==See also==*Legate Investigator
