The Cobal Landstriders are an armoured regiment hailing from the high value Death World of Cobal VII who specialize in operating in hazardous atmosphere's. Their regiment uses walker patterns of various Imperial Guard vehicles.[1]
Contents
Overview
The surface of Cobal is covered in lethal freezing gasses, forcing the regiment to dwell within a shielded citadel. The atmospheric hazard of Cobal has compelled local adaptation of various Astra Militarum vehicles into different patterns and variants so they can operate through the deadly gasses effectively, the most common of these being retrofitting track based locomotion into walker motive systems. This allows the crew of the vehicles to operate safely above the low lying toxic gases.[1][2]
Their commander is Traxian Talos, the "High Strider" of the Regiment, who commands from within a specialized Command Sentinel and wields a master-crafted weapon called the Blade of Command.[1]
In order to facilitate better cooperation with other Imperial Forces, the Departmento Munitorum commissioned a informative document titled "Know Your Allies" to provide, in detail, the primary changes to the appearance of the vehicles of the Cobal Landstriders.[1]
Appearance & Uniform
The Cobal Landstriders appear to have blue uniforms and bronze colored armour. Many of their infantry appear to sport bionics and most are shown consistently wearing full helms.

Weapons & Equipment
The Cobal Landstriders have a number of walker patterns and customized vehicles unique to their regiment and homeworld. These include:
Command Sentinel
High Strider Traxian Talos's specialized Command Sentinel. It is equipped with a Master Crafted Multi-Melta, force shield generator, and strengthened leg servos. Cobal-Pattern Leman Russ Battle Tank
A variant of the Leman Russ Battle Tank like most other Cobal designs it forgoes treads in favour of walker locomotion. This vehicle is utilized by the regiments Tank Commander's. Due to the altered configuration, the weaponry usually attached to sponsons is instead attached to servitor operated remote drones.[1]
Sentinel Lancer
A Sentinel retrofitted to carry a Plasma Shock Lance - a dangerous melee combat weapon effective against all target types. It possess similar combat capability to a Sentinel Powerlifter.[1]
Cobal-Pattern Deathstrike
The Cobal modified launch system for the Deathstrike Missile launch platform is servitor operated, and so is remotely slaved to a specialized target control sentinel.[1]
Target Control Sentinel
Sentinel variant which operates in tandem with the Cobal-Pattern Deathstrike.[1]
Target Control Sentinel alongside the Cobal-Pattern Deathstrike[2]
Demolition Sentinel
A modified stripped down Sentinel chassis designed for remote operation to transport and deliver single-use high explosives or demolition charges. Its payload and destructive capacity is similar to the Cyclops Demolition Vehicle[1]
Cobal Dominator
A Super Heavy Artillery platform designed to mount the Dominus Triple Bombard. They are typically used in defense of vital locations. Their overall combat capability is similar to the Dominus Armoured Siege Bombard itself.[1]
Cobal Enforcer
A Super Heavy walker designed as an alternative to the Baneblade chassis, intended to function in the hostile amtmosphere of Cobal VII. At least one example was presented armed with a Quake Cannon, and was stated to have similar combat capabilities to a Banesword.[1]
Cargo-8 Hauler
Walker transport vehicle.[2]
Gorgon Heavy Transporter
Heavy walker transport vehicle.[2]
Rapier Armoured Carrier
