Large lizards native to the volcanic world of Nocturne. The Salamanders Space Marine Chapter is named for these mighty beasts as Nocturne is thier homeworld. They play an important role in the trials that young recruits are put through to earn thier place in the chapter.
A particualy large and dangerous variety can be found on Mount Deathfire. These slamaders can breath fire and are Know as Firedrakes.
