The Perditus System is a Planetary System of the Imperium.[1b]
History
During the Great Crusade, it was brought into the Imperium by the Dark Angels and Death Guard Legions. A Mechanicum Research Station was established, its status so classified that not even the other Legions were to know of it.[1a]
Later, during the Horus Heresy, the Perditus System was the site of a skirmish between elements of the Death Guard and Iron Hands Legions. News of this eventually reached Lion El'Jonson; when he learned that the research station had potentially been compromised, he immediately ordered a task force to be formed at Balaam, which he would lead in person from the Invincible Reason. He committed over 30,000 warriors to the task force, despite the risk of giving the advantage to the Night Lords in the ongoing Thramas Crusade.[1a]
