The Pyropurge was a battle waged by the Imperium in M40.[1]
Using psychic means, the puritan Inquisitor Dethrec Balthagar and his Deathwatch allies rooted out every last trace of Genestealer infection on the planet Jauseth Septima. However, a fourth generation cultist with the germ-seed of the alien left the infected world three weeks earlier aboard a cryopod shuttle, and he later returned to his home planet. Within three years of Inquisitor Balthagar’s death in service, Jauseth Septima was overrun once more.[1]
