Recently, Geviox was the epicentre of the 'Gevion Cluster War'. In an uncharacteristic move, Dark Eldar of the Volgorragh Rift launched a full scale invasion of the sub-sector for unknown purposes aside from their usual [[slave]]-taking. In retaliation, Captain [[Adrax Agatone]] of the [[Salamanders]] [[Chapter]] lead the [[3rd Company (Salamanders)|3rd Company]] in campaign of liberation, fighting alongside the 156th Night Devils [[Imperial Guard]] [[Regiment]] under General Slayte.{{Fn|1a}} After a lengthy campaign costing the lives of many [[Astartes]] and the near loss of [[Vulkan's Sigil]] — one of the Chapters nine most precious [[Artefacts of Vulkan|artefacts]] — during an earlier assault on Ironlandings{{Fn|1a}}, one of Geviox's main factorums, the Salamanders managed to defeat the Dark Eldar after a furious battle at the Ferron Straits.{{Fn|1c}} With the main Dark Eldar host broken, the remaining forces were quickly destroyed, freeing the Gevion Cluster Worlds from the raiders.{{Fn|1c}}
