Another way of image projection is through the use of an inserted [[Data-Crystal]], which the Projectors cause to spin and then send a beam of light into. Doing so causes the images or recordings the Crystal contains to be displayed and any nearby lights may need to be dimmed, for the Projectors to show a more clearer image.{{Fn|1}}

Hololithic Projectors can also be found on the bridges of starships, visually representing the data collected by the spaceship's [[Augur|sensor array]]. Shaded in laser blue, the resulting tri-d image can be of a star system, with each planet individually displayed,{{Fn|3a}} or of a hostile armada, with identified enemy ships having their armament and manoeuvring capabilities displayed beneath their tri-d simulacra. The capabilities of unknown spaceship are also displayed, estimated based upon mass, power signature and similarities to known vessels.{{Fn|3b}}
