Like [[Space Marines]], Adeptus Custodes are superhuman warriors having had the same[[gene-seed]] implanded in their bodies. It is not however clear whether millenia of apparent lack of action has rendered them useless as a fighting force or whether they are indeed still the elite of the elite that they were originally.
