In most of the Chaos Space Marine forces, only a few members are infected, and as such are rare and generally prized. This is the opposite of the Iron Warriors who seem to have a vast number of Obliterators waiting to recieve their orders, and as such may field more. Being able to morph their own weapons makes them a versatile and deadly enemy, with a very wide range of available weaponry, including [[Assault Cannon]]s, [[Heavy Bolter]]s, [[Lascannon]]s, [[Multi-melta]]s, [[twin-linked]] [[Storm Bolter]]s, [[Flamer]]s, twin-linked [[Meltagun]]s, [[Power Weapon]]s or [[Power Fist]]s.
Though they are versatile, they are slow to move across the battlefield but once they meet [[close combat]] their strength and speed easily overwhelms many of the common units available to most armies, especially if armed with some of the more deadly close combat weapons. Also, due to their amazing abilities, they tend to shrud shrug off all fears and do not hide from or evade the vast waves of enemy fire.
