'''Ultramar''' is the realm of the [[Ultramarines]], and part of the greater [[Imperium]]. Unlike most [[Space Marines|pace Marine]] [[Chapter]]s, the Ultramarines do not rule over a single world, asteroid, or [[fortress-monastery]], but an entire region of space. Located in the [[Eastern Fringe]] Ultramar consists of several worlds that the Ultramarines recruit from and protect. Each world is self-sufficient, a remarkable achievement in the [[Imperium]], and a testament to the skill and vision of the Ultramarines' [[Primarch]] [[Roboute Guilliman]]. As the worlds of Ultramar are under the direct control of a [[Space Marine]] Marines Chapter they do not pay tithes to the Imperium, instead they contribute directly to the upkeep of the Ultramarines. Of course, the worlds of Ultramar also maintain their own [[PDFPlanetary Defence Forces]] regiments and, due to the Ultramarines efficient rule, also maintain several hundred regiments ready to join the [[Imperial Guard]] when needed.
