Sensor Spines are a set of advanced Tau devices that collects detailed data about the surrounding ground.
They can be fitted on a skimmer vehicle allowing it to hover closer to the ground, without risking hitting an obstacle even in hazardous terrain, yet still gaining any tactical advantage the landscape can provide (such as cover)2. They can also be used to detect hidden units or traps1.
