Jackals are the equivalent to [[Imperial]] [[escort]] vessels, and have been encountered several times. Only on two occasions have these ships been seen working on their own, instead they are usually found tailing the [[Cairn Class Tomb Ships]] and [[Scythe Class Harvest Ships]].
