This left Drooth II the only world capable of sustaining life, but it became a hostile place. Now it was covered in sand-like mineral [[Desert World|deserts]], that released burning gases during its day cycle, and its air was unbreathable for unprotected Humans. Despite this, the world was the only place of worth, when the Drooth System was later added to the [[Realm of Ultramar]]. Drooth II became home to a research and listening outpost, known as '''Helgarn's Furnace''', which was built around the remains of a space elevator built by the ancient human civilization. During the [[Horus Heresy]], the System fell to the forces of [[Horus]] and Drooth II became the site of the [[Crusade of Iron]]'s [[Battle of Drooth II|last battle]].{{Fn|1}}
