Felweather Keep is a stronghold on the Knight World of Damaetus III/II. It is the primary base of the Knights of House Vyronii.[1][2]
History
The keep was constructed when Damaetus was first colonised, converted from the remains of the ark that brought the original human colonists to that world.[2]
During the Age of Strife, Damaetus was attacked numerous times by the xenos Mitu Conglomerate. Felweather Keep managed to stand resolute until the planet was relieved by the Dark Angels Legion and was subsequently incorporated into the Imperium. The keep housed a number of subterranean vaults containing ancient data-stacks, which were of great interest to the Mechanicum; delegations from various Forge Worlds attempted to make a deal with House Vyronii, offering their patronage and support in exchange for the data.[1]
Although Grand Master Jahk was reluctant to allow Mechanicum intervention with regards to his House and world, eventually he had little choice but to create a pact with a Forge World, lest Vyronii's Knights all be destroyed.[1] He chose to ally with the Mechanicum of Cyclothrathe, unaware that they had sided with the Traitors in the Horus Heresy. When a Cyclothrathe delegation arrived at Damaetus, the Traitor Mechanicum forces attacked Felweather Keep, leading to a pitched battle.[1][2]
