Despite the hazards of this region, many species have managed to thrive within its boundaries. Most notable amongst these is the [[Kin]] of the [[Leagues of Votann]]. The Core is home to the vast majority of the Leagues' civilization and all of their ancient [[Hold]]s. It is thanks to the [[Cloneskein]] biological templates of the ancient [[First Ancestor]]s that the Kin have been able to adapt themselves to survival in this harsh region. The Kin are not alone in this region, and large numbers of [[Orks]] as well as other lesser species have managed to establish themselves in the Galactic Core.{{Fn|5}}
