Tandaris was intially classified as a Dead World, however it was transformed into an Imperial Navy base and supply depot during the Dalmatius Crusade due to its location as a vital link between two major warp space lanes in the Crucis Sector. The planet's capital city is Port City, which can be seen from orbit. Its Aestimare is A760-D45.[1a]

Tandaris was fought over between the Vostroyan Firstborns and the forces of Chaos in the Tandaris Outbreak.[1a] Elements of the Noctus 7th joined the traitor forces[1b], alongside Nurgle Zombies, under the command of Father Bacillus, who intended to turn the planet into a Daemon World.[2a] Whilst Bacillus succeeded in becoming a Daemon Prince, he was banished to the warp by Inquisitor Annullos and the Grey Knights.[2b]
