Furibundus is a System in The Cauldron region of the Koronus Expanse in the Halo Stars.[1a] It position marks the far side of the Great Warp Storms and the beginning of the Expanse.[1b]
Furious Star
Its star, also named Furibundus, is a huge and primal stellar mass, far brighter and more energetic than any star should be. Its fires rage so fiercely that the cataclysmic energies unleashed within cause vast bulges of burning plasma to distend its form, writhing as though immense beasts fight within. The outer envelope constantly tears and ripples, throwing off huge flaming masses into the near voids. Furibundus is surrounded by shells of remnant gas expanding outward, each a remnant of the star’s outermost layers.[1b]
Celestial Objects
Map of the Furibundus System[3]
- Dead World - An unnamed Dead World[3]
- Footfall - Stonework Void-Settlement[1b]
- Altar-Templum-Calixis-Ext-17 - Blasted molten rock. The Adeptus Mechanicus hide a heavily shielded fortress-temple here which they use to study the system's star.[1b] While the Tech-Priest outpost is exceptionally well defended, it has little offensive capabilities[2a] and prefer a life of solitude over interfering with issues within the system.[2b]
