Balor is a Class N planet in the Charadon Sector.[1]
Geography
As of 997.M41 the climate of Balor is almost that of a class L planet (cold and icy), yet due to the fact that most of the planet is covered in less than 97% water, it fits into the N category.[1]
Filled with vast plains and hills, Balor is an extremely large planet, and has many valuable raw materials such as a high proportion of Gold, Tungsten, Manganese, Iron, Chromium, Vanadium (used to make Steel) Copper and Tin (used to make Bronze) which makes it a highly valuable planet. Battles occur rarely at Balor, due to a new Naval Base being built there. It is one of many planets that has an almost unlimited supply of raw material of use to both Chaos and the Imperium.[1]
Balor is currently under the control of the Imperium and under the persistent eyes of the Inquisition.[1]
Population
Balor has a population of an estimated twenty billion, including a garrison of 250,000,000 Imperial Guard troops.[1]
