Taral III is a planet. On its barren sulphur deserts the Whirlwind Rhino variant was first used by members of the Salamanders during the Horus Heresy in the Purging of Taral III.[1][2]
While the Salamanders were victorious in the battle, they left Imperial Army and Solar Auxilia to clear the word of Traitors. However, the planet would see more and costlier battles throughout the Heresy.[2]
