Lector
Lectors, also known as Lector-Dogmis or Lector-Dogmatis, are high ranking and powerful machine priests steeped in theological knowledge.[1a] They are of high rank in the Adeptus Mechanicus and often puritanical in beliefs.[1b]
Overview
Lector-Dogmis is the female term and Lector-Dogmatis male, depending on the Tech-Priest's gender code signifier, if one is specified in the individual's identifier at all. These high ranking Tech-Priest leaders are usually so far down the road of enlightenment that they entirely forego the human form. The forms of their mechasapient apotheosis are abstract, even by the standards of the Machine Cult. They are one with the holy word[2] and tend to give their mind and form entirely to the interpretation and didactic expression of the Lex Mechanicus. Some powerful lectors have significant and masterful command of the noosphere.[1c]
After their apotheosis their form become that of a box with tendrils[2] or several brains held aloft in liquid-filled cylinders.[1c]
Known Lectors
- Supreme Lector Katrovax of Gryphonne IV[1c]
- Lector-Dogmatis Videx of Metalica[3]
- Lector-Dogmis Alixia Kalisperis of Accatran[2]

Trivia
- Lectors have some indication of being superiors to techseers.[1b] Techseers and Lectors have a significant degree of overlap in responsibilities and attitudes. Both dogmatically seek to maintain the set strictures of the Cult Mechanicus. Their priorities tend to maintain these rules of the priesthood, as well as the purity of Machine Spirits and the spirits of members of the Cult Mechanicus.
