Vraks Prime is an "armoury world" of the Imperium, used as a vast storage facility for supplies and equipment. Vraks is the location of Imperial Armour Volume Five: The Siege of Vraks book. Vraks system consists of four planets (Prime, Secundus, Tertius, Uryx). Its only inhabited world is Vraks Prime.
Vraks' society is organised with the same hierarchy as the Administratum on Terra - a relatively large part of the population consists of adepts who run its vast bureaucracy. A major part of Vraks' population form another vital function as indentured labourers. Among the labour force is a large number of Ogryns.
Once an impregnable fortress, surrounded by miles of defence lines, the citadel of Vraks has fallen into the hands of the renegade forces of Cardinal Xaphan, along with Vraks' stockpiles of war supplies.
From his stronghold the Apostate Cardinal planned to launch a holy war across the Scarus Sector. The Imperium must stop him and destroy his army. A new army was raised, and a massive siege launched against Vraks' defences. The Imperium's plan was to wage a brutal war of attrition with which to wear down the enemy over a period of twelve years. The war culminated in a final assault against the Cardinal's citadel, with the assist of Space Marines from several different chapters. The Seige of Vraks came to an official end at 414830.M41. 34 Krieg regiments had fought for almost eighteen years and lost almost fourteen million men. Vraks Original population of 8million souls had been wiped out, the numbers of enemy losses incalculable. In the end, Vraks was utterly destroyed in the fighting and has been cordoned off by the Inquisition3.
