As the Pylons emerged from the desert to attack the Imperial forces present on the planet, it can be concluded that the assault was a defensive action (they would have been teleported into position if the attack was offensive) suggesting that WDY-272 is either a Tomb World or a world of some significance to the Necrons.[1]
