The Scald

The Scald is a layer of the cloud-ocean that covers most of the surface of the planet Phantine. Located deep beneath the cloud-ocean's top layer, the Scald is both poisonous and extremely corrosive. As a result, most of Phantine is not habitable by humans.[1]
