The Zar Hraval were a pilot cadre of the Word Bearers Legion.[1]
Overview
The self-prolcaimed Harbingers of the True Faith, the pilots of the Zar Hraval willingly accepted their own ritual sacrifice inside the cockpits of their aircraft so that they could be born again as a monstruous fusion of daemonic entity, human psyche and flying war machine. Becoming warped mockeries of their former selves, the Zar Hraval could fly into the most hazardous environments and perform combat missions that would have been beyond even the legendary endurance of the Legiones Astartes.[1]
