Shroud Class Light Cruisers are part of the Necron Battlefleet Gothic fleet list. They were first recorded in 992.M41 during a battle with Battlefleet Pacificus. For the following six years, three more incedents of sightings ended with the Shroud Class Light Cruisers retreating from battle. It is believed that the class or crew might have been being tested.

In 998.M41, five Shroud Class Light Cruisers assaulted the Adeptus Mechanicus facility on Mars, although they were all destroyed in the end, several managed to land on the soil of Mars itself, although the hulks were never found. Since Mars, six occasions have seen the Shrouds acting as the eyes and ears of the Necron fleet, and they excell at this because no ship capable of catching them has the firepower to disable one, so stealthy and highly powered are the engines. Given that they can easily break into the Adeptus Mechanicus' greatest facility with five ships makes them one of the most dangerous foes to the Imperium.
