Lost Chapter

After the Horus Heresy it was decided by the leaders of the Imperium that the loyalist Space Marine Legions had to be divided. They were simply too numerous and powerful; a too great temptation for overly ambitious and rebellious commanders. With the 2nd Founding the loyalist legions were divided into twenty smaller Chapters. During the following ten thousand years more and more chapters would be raised.

The large majority of these chapters have remained loyal and survived to this day, while a small minority have revolted, joining the Renegade Chapters. Most of these are simply traitors, fallen to Chaos. Others are idealistic rebels, who have rejected the all-too oppressive Imperial authority.

Other have simply been lost; either sustaining too many loses or otherwise. Information about many of them is all-too scarce as it has inevitably been lost during the millenia.
