The Land Speeder is the primary reconnaisance, scouting, resupply and fast attack vehicle of the Loyalist Space Marine Chapters. Land Speeders are based on STC data recovered in M31 and have since become widely produced and used throughout the Imperium. Land Speeders were also originaly used by the Imperial Guard, but since then the Plasma and anti gravity technologies required to use them have become increasingly rare and so only extremely resource rich planets or factions such as Ryzla or the Space Marines can afford to create them.

Land Speeders are normally armed with a heavy bolter or Multimelta, depending on their function, and have a crew of two. they include various suspensors and propulsors that can propel the gravship at upwards of 300 kilometers per hour, its primary defence against hostile fire. Variants of the Landspeeder include the Tornado, which mounts an additional weapon under the cockpit, the Typhoon, which includes a flank mounted Typhoon missile launcher and the Tempest, which is more heavily armoured, has an enclosed cockpit and replaces its primary weapon with an assault cannon and improved propulsors for anti aircraft duties.

Common slang for Landspeeders include 'gravdogs', 'fickers', 'slicks' and 'fireflies'
