The Ctesiphus System is located in the Chalnath Expanse, which in the wake of the Great Rift's creation, was struck by the Tau Empire's Fifth Sphere of Expansion.[1]
History
Millions of years ago, the System was part of the Necrontyr Infinite Empire and belonged to the Malthost Dynasty, itself a client of the Sautekh Dynasty.[2]
In the modern era, before its direct threat from the Tau, Ctesiphus was subjected to Genestealer Cult uprisings so successful, that more than half of its key worlds fell in a matter of months. Those few that remained loyal to the Imperium now hold on by a thread and their enduring faith in the Emperor is all that gives them strength.[1] Currently, Imperial efforts in the System are focused on defending the capital world of Phorentis from the Tau.[2]
