M3

M4 or the 4th Millennium is a millennium within the Imperial Dating System.

Trivia

The following information is not to be regarded as officially sanctioned and/ or is not written from an in-universe point of view. A detailed explanation of the term "Trivia" as used in the Lexicanum can be found here.

• The Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40,000 (Game Manual) states all events attributed to it in M3 happened in M2. However the Game Manual makes it clear that the writers beleived 2011 happened in M2, when in reality it happened in M3. Thus the events have been placed here in M3.

Notes

There is a lack of clarity over whether 000.M3 or 001.M3 is the first year of the millennium, and whether 999.M3 or 000.M3 is the last year of the millennium. Most sources state that 001.M3 is the first year and 000.M3 the last year. Since the creation of these articles Lexicanum has worked off of what is stated in the 5th Edition Rulebook, that being that 000.M3 is the first year, and 999.M3 is the last. Events in 000.M3 thus may have been either at the start or end of the millennium. For more information see here.
