Power Weapon
A Power Weapon share the same technological background as a Power Fist, but this is where the comparison ends. Its physical design is radically different, usually they are shaped more in the design of a sword, axe and sometimes even maces, glaives or whips.

Imperial edged power weapons always have two parallell wires running along the blade (one slightly shorter than the other), and cruder designs also have visible power cables or energy cells. Other notable Imperial variants are the Power Maul used by the Adeptus Arbites and the Crozius Arcanum that a Space Marine Chaplain wields.
Power weapons are quite common among the officer core of both the Imperial Guard and the Space Marines due to the lightweight/high damage combination. They are most often accompanied by some form of pistol to give the bearer a ranged attack as well as the advantage of a firearm in close combat. Other races also produce power weapons, and sometimes equip entire units of elite warriors with them. Notable units are the Eldar Howling Banshees and the Dark Eldar Incubi.[Needs Citation]

Axe of Chalcydon
The Axe of Chalcydon was borne by Saint Jason during his crusade against the Eldar on Huale.
Sword of Hieronymo Sondar
The sword of Hieronymo Sondar, gifted to Colonel- Commissar Gaunt of the Tanith First and Only after his successful defence of Vervunhive, The Sword of Heironymo is an exceptionally strong power sword, and an heirloom of the city of Vervunhive on Verghast. It is said that whoever leads Vervunhive's forces in battle must wield this weapon. After the death of most of Vervunhive's leadership - military and administrative - during Heritor Asphodel's invasion in 769.M41, the sword was given to Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt, the senior Imperial commander in Vervunhive (all of the others either dead or imprisoned). The sword remained in Gaunt's possession after the battle, gifted to him for his actions in the defense of Vervunhive during the Heritor's siege. A deadly weapon, it has never left the man's side.1
