The Damocles Squad appear in the novel Iron Snakes by Dan Abnett and are led by Priad who inherited this role as Brother-Sergeant after the original was killed saving Priad. Squad Damocles lost their apothecary when purging demons and Priad cleared the name of another apothecary then saving him from certain death by one of the giant wyrms of their home world. Damocles is a notable squad and fought with the Venerable Dreadnought Autolochaus against the insidious Dark Eldar known as the Primuls, they then genetically re rendered the skull of a famous ork warlord and halted the waaagh that had been ripping up their home of the reef stars.
