Inquisitor Lichtenstein stares at Artifact XE3-36 as it reveals itself to be a Necron Monolith.[2]

Artifact XE3-36[Note 1] is the Imperial designation for a mysterious pyramid found in the Equatorial Jungle on the planet Armageddon.[1]

The artefact, which resembles a metallic pyramid,[1] is believed to be at least six-hundred millennia old,[2] but has mostly defied Imperial analysis so far. The surface is lacking in seams or joins, and is composed of an unknown compound with similarities to both metal and plastic. The Feral Orks which otherwise infest the Jungle steer clear of the Artefact.[1]

Analysis by Inquisitor Lichtenstein showed the pyramid to be of Necron origin, before the pyramid itself came to life revealing itself to be a Necron Monolith.[2]

Notes

  • Note 1: The object is referred to as "Imperial Artifact XE3-36" [sic] on the Third War for Armageddon website[1] and as "Xeno Artifact XE3-36" [sic] in White Dwarf.[2] "Artifact" is possibly a misspelling of "Artefact".
