| This article is about the rank of Tech Priests; for the planet, see Artisan (World). |
Artisans are a rank of Tech Priest within the Adeptus Mechanicus. Also known as constructors, they design wondrous machines, buildings, spacecraft, weapons, and military hardware. Artisans often oversee activity on Forge Worlds and control vast labour forces of Servitors.[1]
Artisans are some of the most knowledgeable and staunch adherents of the Lex Mechanicus, following it to the letter. They have intimate knowledge of the extents to which their designs can reach and which lines not to cross. They are trusted to know where subtle embellishment is allowed without crossing the line into heretical alteration.[3]
