Bastion was created by Michael Steer, who submitted it for a Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade competition ran by the video game's developers, Pixel Toys. The competition was for the coolest-looking Freeblade and for winning, the Warhammer Studio Army Painter Natalie Slinn painted an Imperial Knight minture in Bastion's colors. This was then given to Steer to own.^[1]
